JBaby Programs at the J
Guided by early childhood educators, JBaby programs are specially designed to help parents-to-be and new families build relationships with other young families in the Jewish community. Bring your little ones to our center in San Rafael, CA to find enriching activities throughout your child’s early childhood education.
JymBabies offers a fun, safe playspace filled with age-appropriate gym equipment that encourages exploration and physical development. Our playroom is designed for children birth to 30 months and is an exciting place for children to crawl, run, and jump together. JymBabies supports the cognitive, physical, and social development for young children and provides an opportunity for social connection and community with other young families.
For children ages 18 to 30 months, Side by Side is a small gathering of young families where your toddler can build social skills, develop friendships, and explore a preschool environment with their caregiver by their side. Together, your child and you will enjoy activities including music, arts and crafts, circle time, and free playtime in the company of other new learners and their caregivers.
In MusicBabies with JAMaROO, for children 6 to 30 months, your child will find pleasure in singing traditional songs, learning new original songs, and discovering music from around the world. Each month has a seasonal theme and incorporates the use of puppets, books, and musical instruments to strengthen engagement skills and cognitive development.
In partnership with Congregation Rodef Sholom, Osher Marin JCC Early Childhood Education hosts a monthly one-hour Shabbat followed by coffee, bagels, and topics to explore, including the joys and oys of parenting. The hour ends with our blessings and a gift-filled Shalom baby bag. Parents with children birth to two years—as well as siblings who aren’t in school—are welcome to attend.
For families with young children, these events are offered throughout the year, providing a valuable introduction to Jewish holidays and to Marin’s Jewish community. These events are free, open to all, and offer crafts, storytelling, games, music, dancing, and fun foods to recognize and celebrate holidays and rituals such as Sukkot, Laila Tov, Hanukkah, Tu B’Shevat, Purim, and Shavuot.

Covid-19 Safety Protocols
In line with the Marin County Public Health Department, masks are optional for children and adults for indoors and outdoors. Individuals may choose whether or not to wear a mask. Everyone’s personal preference is respected, and we’ll continue to monitor transmission rates and will return to indoor masking if and when the rate is in the “high” range.
