Family Shabbat!
Twice during the summer we will have family Shabbat experiences
here at camp. Come bring a picnic dinner, meet your children’s
counselors and friends while enjoying a relaxing Shabbat. Save
the date: July 11th and August 1, more details to follow.
Campers enjoy our beautiful pool nearly every day!
We offer a skill-based swimming program modeled after nationally
recognized standards taught by experienced aquatics instructors. Kelli
Maciel, our JCC Health & Fitness Director, has over 20 years of
aquatics management and teaching experience. Together, Kelli and Vera
De Ferrari, the onsite aquatic operations manager, oversee the aquatics
portion of our staff training. They also supervise the professional
swim instructors and lifeguards during camp swim time to ensure the
utmost safety.
All campers are assessed for water safety and swimming ability and are
assigned to a small group appropriate to their skill level. Grades K-8
are led by a trained aquatic instructor, with counselors assigned to
assist the instructors. First-time swimmers are placed in a separate
group to learn water safety and early swimming techniques. K-4 grade
swimmers are taught swimming skills and participate in fun, organized
skill-enhancing swim activities. Older campers (grade 5 and above) enjoy
swim instruction and skill-based structured games with their counselors.
Our youngest campers play in the shallow tot pool or have outdoor water
play games two days a week.
There is no alternative programming for campers who will not be participating
in the swim program – they will be supervised at the side of the
pool while their group swims.

Camp Nitzanim
(Hebrew for "Little Buds")
For kids entering kindergarten in fall 2008
This program provides a nuturing transition from preschool to kindergarten.
The staff (including a preschool specialist) is carefully selected to
work with this age group. Camp Nitzanim has its own separate kindergarten-appropriate
classroom and play structure. All programming is on-site and is supplemented
with visits from guest entertainers such as magicians and puppeteers.
Each day includes swim time in a fun yet tightly organized skill-building
program. A highlight for campers is the late-night pajama party (offered
in sessions 2, 3 & 4).
Nitzanim offers a full-time, weeklong schedule, Monday-Friday, 9:30am-3:30pm.
Extended Care and bus transportation are available for this age group.

Camp Beyt (2nd letter of Hebrew alphabet) |
Aleph and Beyt campers enjoy classic activities like art, sports,
music, nature, Jewish culture, and drama. When on-site, campers swim
every day in a fun yet tightly organized skill-building program. Daily
activities are enhanced with special age-appropriate field trips, hikes
with naturalists, daily opening and closing circles, and a weekly Shabbat
celebration.
Late Nights and Sleepovers
During sessions 2-4, Aleph campers enjoy a sleepover at the JCC, while
Beyt campers participate in an outdoor overnight at a nearby park.
Values-based Programming
Each session has a camp-wide theme that helps to build character and
enhance social skills in experiential and fun ways.

Camp Ruach (Hebrew for "Spirit")
Grades 5-6
Ruach campers enjoy all the activities and fun of our traditional camps plus extra activity choices, extra swim time, and more leadership development. This summer, Ruach has been redesigned to create programming attuned to the highly developed interests and talents of older campers. Ruach campers also enjoy at least one field trip a week, and a two night overnight at a state or national park during Session II, and a one night overnight during Session I.

Aug 18-22 (week 9)
Camp KEF is a one-week traditional camp at the end of our summer. This
week our groups have a slightly larger age range, and will participate
in more all-camp activities, so it is a great week for siblings or friends
of different ages to get to play together. We’ll have entertainers
and all sorts of special activities to make the end of our summer go
out with a bang!
One-week specialty camps offer kids a chance to explore an exciting topic of interest in an artistic and adventurous way with a focus on fun rather than academics. Campers also enjoy swimming* twice a week, opening and closing circle, and our Friday Shabbat celebration.
*Swim program for our one-week camps consist of structured skill-based games.
