If you’d like to become a lifeguard or you’re looking to renew your lifeguard certification, the JCC can help. For over 20 years, we’ve been training qualified swimmers for pool-safety supervision and water rescues with American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, including certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED (Automated External Defibrillators) use.

Lifeguard Training Classes

Earn your lifeguard certification from the American Red Cross. Our lifeguard certification courses are designed to ensure that you are properly trained and prepared in the event of a water emergency. The class will be held at the Osher Marin JCC in San Rafael.

Participants who are hired by the JCC will be eligible for reimbursement of the course fee after completing consecutive 6 months of employment.

Water Safety Instructor Class

Earn your certification to teach American Red Cross swimming and water safety, and gain the skills needed to teach courses and make presentations to swimmers of every age and ability. Through our Aquatic Instructor Training program, you can help recreational swimmers meet their goals, refine their skills and stay safe in, on, and around water.

Classes will be held at the Osher Marin JCC in San Rafael.

Participants who are hired by the JCC will be eligible for reimbursement of the course fee after completing consecutive 6 months of employment.

Lifeguard Training Review

Lifeguarding Review classes are designed to update your skills and to renew your current Red Cross Lifeguarding certification valid for another 2 years. Current certification (or expired by 30 days) in Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED is required to participate in the review course. Current certification is required to work as a Lifeguard.

The class will be held at the Osher Marin JCC in San Rafael.
